Helena started acting at a young age when she appeared in plays, musicals, and concerts. When she was still a teenager, she was discovered by a top modeling agency in Sweden.
After completing her upper secondary school studies, she got the confidence to pursue acting as a career. She is also a trained dancer and martial artist, with a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
She attended Performing Arts High School in Stockholm, after which she went to London and New York to further her studies as an actor.
Her early roles were in Wild Side Story among other roles in Stockholm.
She was only 19 when she moved to Hollywood to take part in a television series audition. Helena planned on visiting for a while, but she ended up staying there much longer after getting a role in the series, Sweden, Ohio.
Initially, her thick accent got in the way, but once she got rid of it, she saw an improvement in her career and began getting more American roles.
