Charlotte Sweep: Border Patrol Takes Down 400 Illegal Aliens, Many with Serious Criminal Records
In the past several weeks, a Border Patrol-led task force has made major progress in restoring law and order in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to Commander Greg K. Bovino, federal agents have removed more than 400 illegal immigrants, many of whom had serious criminal histories, from the streets since mid-November.

Border Patrol teams assigned to the city arrested 274 offenders on their own, while coordinated efforts with ICE pushed the total well above the 400 mark. Bovino said that more than half of all additional arrests involved illegal immigrants who were caught alongside a targeted criminal suspect and also had significant prior offenses.
“Our mission is to take the worst of the worst off the streets,” Bovino said. “If you are here illegally and associating with violent criminals, there are no excuses and no free passes.”

On one enforcement day alone, nearly 67% of those detained were found in the company of a known criminal illegal alien. Agents even encountered verified members of MS-13 and the 18th Street gang operating freely in the city.
Local residents, according to Bovino, expressed gratitude and relief, saying these actions made their neighborhoods feel safer. DHS officials emphasized that the operation is ongoing and that federal agents will return as long as criminal networks remain active.
